The system is powered by BVM's cPC200 single slot CompactPCI SBC and is offered pre-loaded and configured with either Windows NT4, NT4 Embedded, Windows 2000 or Linux O/S. Supporting processor clock speeds up to 550MHz and bus speeds up to 100MHz the cPC1000 provides a good choice for most application requirements. As standard 64Mbytes of DRAM are provided but this can be specified as up to 512Mbytes. The cPC200 also provides 10baseT/100baseTX Ethernet, two IDE disc channels enabling up to four drives, all with full Ultra DMA, to be attached. The default cPC1000 system configuration includes hard, floppy and CD drives. The cPC1000 is supplied in a lightweight aluminium desktop housing, fitted with a 300W PC ATX auto-sensing power supply; the subrack is recessed to protect the front injector/extractor handle mechanisms; it also provides rear plug-up capability in accordance with IEEE1101.11. A 4 Slot Rev 3.0 compliant backplane is standard, giving three free system slots for the user. By specifying I/O requirements from BVM's range of PMC modules a fully configured system can be provided. With Windows NT4 Embedded in particular this can greatly simplify system installation ensuring an efficient project implementation. Specifying BVM's cPC2PMC Hot Swap PMC carrier module, enables two PMC modules to be selected. BVM manufactures a range of PMC modules which can be specified for pre-installation. The PMCFW2 a three-port Firewire controller using the latest Texas TSB12LV26 IEEE1394 OHCI compliant Host controller and the TSB41AB3 three port transceiver/arbiter, fully conforming to the Open Host Controller Interface standard (OHCI) and IEE1394a specification. The PMCSCU2 is an Ultra 2 SCSI controller offering up to 80Mb/s transfer rates on 16-bit Ultra SCSI 2 peripherals and 40Mb/s on Ultra wide SCSI whilst still supporting all legacy flavours of wide and narrow SCSI formats. The PMC100Fx is a high performance fibre media Ethernet controller module, giving a range of up to 2km over 62.5/125 multimode fibre cable and up to 30km over 9/125 singlemode. The PMCSIO8 octal serial module offers eight fully independent channels with the full complement of signals on each channel operating at speeds up to 12Mbaud. *** Ends: 376 words *** Notes to Editors.
