Press information To download a web res or 300dpi print quality image, go to www.parkfield.co.uk/hammond-au New family of general purpose and IP66 small die-cast aluminium enclosures Released 28 August 2009 Hammond Electronics has launched the initial six sizes in the new 1550 family, a range of industry standard sizes small die-cast aluminium enclosures that provide robust mechanical protection and good EMC attenuation levels, making them suitable for a use in a wide variety of applications. The full range will consist of sixteen sizes, all of which will be available by the end of 2009. Available with a natural or black epoxy powder coated finish, the units are supplied in two versions, standard and watertight. The watertight units are supplied with a separate compressible self-adhesive gasket that, when fitted between the lid and the base, provides dust and water sealing to IP66, enabling them to be used in both benign and hostile environments. The thin wall aluminium enclosures have high impact strength but are also easily drilled and punched to accept cables, switches and indicators as required. The initially available sizes range from 60 x 55 x 26mm to 115 x 90 x 51mm; the largest size in the family, to be introduced later in the year, will be 275 x 175 x 65mm.
