Additional size of 1599 Series hand-held instrument case Released 22 February 2002 Hammond Electronics has introduced the 1599K, the latest size of hand-held unit to be added to the well-established 1599 family of small instrument cases. The rounded soft styled unit, finished with a subtle textured effect, measures 220 x 140 x 40mm and is available with or without a battery compartment. Moulded in either flame-retardant ABS or low cost polystyrene, the ABS version can optionally be supplied with a metallic EMC coating. Grey and black are the standard colours. The top is recessed to give a 206 x 126mm area suitable for a membrane keyboard; PCB guides moulded into the inside. The very shallow 9mm base section has moulded-in PCB standoffs and two keyhole knockouts to facilitate wall mounting. A lap join construction provided protection to IP54; in the ABS version machine screws and brass inserts are used to secure the two halves together, the polystyrene units use self-tapping screws. *** Ends: body copy 149 words *** Notes to Editors.
