Low current high output loop-powered addressable sounders Released 20 July 2001 NOTIFIER Fire Systems has added a new range of high efficiency wall mounted and detector base sounders to its analogue addressable fire systems range. The loop-powered audible warning devices have two volume settings, providing sound outputs of either 100 or 93dB(A) at 1 metre for the wall mounted version and 90 or 85dB(A) for the base sounder. Both versions feature a very low current draw - 7.3mA or 4.1mA - at the high and low outputs respectively, enabling significantly more devices to be powered from a single loop, reducing installation costs. Three different tones can be selected. The wall mounted units are supplied complete with a surface backbox, enabling either direct surface cable entry or connection to a standard electrical backbox. They feature separate in and out terminals and are available in either red or white. The detector base sounders act as the base for any standard NOTIFIER analogue addressable optical, ionisation or thermal sensor allowing a single connection to both sensor and sounder, reducing installation time and cost. The base sounder can also be used as a stand-alone unit by fitting a separate red or white cover plate if a detector is not used. The units operate from 15 - 32VDC and are fitted with the normal NOTIFIER rotary decade switches for address setting and DIP switches for tone and volume selection. *** Ends: 210 words *** Notes to Editors.
