Intended for use in areas such as kitchens, bars and clubs where such high levels of airborne contamination can routinely be expected that an optical detector would be liable to return excessive numbers of false alarms, the 5351E is the best option when the faster acting optical detector cannot be used. All Series 300 detectors can be programmed and monitored from ground level using the unique RPTU Remote Programming and Test Unit, which operates over a range of 8m in radio mode or 3m in laser mode. In radio mode, the RPTU is used in conjunction with the SAT radio receiver, which, clipped to the detector using a No-Climb or similar pole, enables the engineer to read and write maintenance dates, check the thermal element value, program the device's unique address and set the unit into alarm. In laser mode, a modulated laser beam is directed at the device's LED, which acts as a receiver. The simpler LTU Laser Test Unit operates on the same laser principle; it enables the engineer remotely to set the device into alarm, but does not support any of the higher level control functionality available in the RPTU. *** Ends: body copy 217 words *** Notes to Editors.
