On the DIO64, bits can be selected as input or output under program control allowing considerable flexibility in system design and minimising spares requirements. The opto-couplers on the DIO32 are factory selectable as input or output. Normal stock items are 32 inputs, 32 outputs or 16 and 16 with other combinations available to special order. Both modules have a watchdog timer programmable between 125ms and 2s which can tri-stated the outputs if required. Interrupts can be generated on change of state, doing away with the need for regular polling of the inputs. TTL inputs are latched by the 33MHz PCI clock whilst the opto-coupled inputs are provided with a double sample de-bounce capability. The modules can be used in a wide variety of host environments and are supplied with comprehensive, multi-functional drivers and example source code for all flavours of Windows. The DIO32 opto-coupled unit has good isolation capability with2kV I/O to logic isolation and 1kV channel to channel. Output current is limited to 250mA, 0 to 48VDC and is short circuit protected; input current is limited to 5mA over the same voltage range. The DIO64's TTL lines will source or sink 32/64mA respectively and are protected by a re-settable fuse. I/O connections are available via the front panel mounted 68-pin SCSI-III connector and at the rear via the P4 connector. Various I/O breakout modules are available for remote mounting to ease the task of real-world interfacing. *** Ends: 269 words *** Notes to Editors. Individual boards and modules for integration into users' own systems are supplied, and complete systems are designed, supplied and commissioned. IndustryPack and PMC format modules for configurable I/O are supported on many SBCs, and a wide range of single function modules is also produced. In addition to its standard range of modules the company offers a custom design service ranging from minor modifications to standard designs to complete custom modules.
