New Chief appointed at Hammond Electronics Released 31 October 2002 Hammond Manufacturing, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of small plastic, die-cast aluminium and metal enclosures for the electronics and electrical industries, has announced the appointment of Chris Wilson as the new General Manager of its UK subsidiary, Hammond Electronics. In his new role, Chris will be responsible for all aspects of the company activities; his primary focus will be on building deeper relationships with the existing network of UK and European distributors and further developing the distribution base geographically. His appointment marks a significant commitment to the continuing development of Hammond’s European business. He has extensive experience in the electrical and electronics sectors; he joins Hammond from Omron where he spent seven years as an Area Sales Manager within the EMC Division. Chris has come from an electrical engineering background and has previously held technical and commercial positions in the electrical/electronics industry. The new position has been created to enable Roger Kent, Managing Director, to withdraw from the day-to-day management of the UK company to concentrate on strategic development within the group. Hammond has this year set up a new subsidiary in Adelaide, Australia; further geographic expansion in South East Asia is planned and a strong programme of new product development is also in hand. *** Ends: 206 words *** Notes to Editors.
