RESETTABLE MANUAL CALL POINT Released 13 September 2000 KAC has announced the latest addition to its extensive range of manual call points, a resettable unit that provides 'no-glass' operation. Particularly appropriate for use in systems installed in food preparation areas, swimming pools and other areas where glass fragments would be unacceptable, the resettable unit is also ideal for emergency machine stops, gas discharge operation, evacuation alarm initiation and other applications where a rapid and reliable manual actuation device is essential. To activate, the front face of the unit is pressed in the normal way; the unit then latches into the operated condition, with a bright yellow indicator bar dropping into the display window. A special security key is required to reset the unit back to its quiescent state. The resettable module can be retrofitted into existing World Series call point bodies. The resettable operating mechanism is fully compatible with the use of LEDs in the body of the call point to indicate operation. For external use, the units can be supplied in a rainproof format with environmental protection of the switch contacts to IP55. A transparent hinged cover and breakable cover seal give additional protection against accidental operation. *** Ends: 190 words *** Notes to Editors.
