1500 - 3500 Watt cabinet air conditioners for use in Hazardous Areas

Pfannenberg UK are one of very few companies able to offer cabinet air conditioners approved for use in Hazardous Areas rated Zone 1 Gas or Zone 21 Dust.  The new DTS-Ex 7x41 is available in four different capacities from 1500W to 3500W; the cabinet cut-out is common to all versions, and an airflow of 560m3/h is achieved inside the cabinet.  By using the DTS-Ex 7x41 in conjunction with a suitable approved pressurised cabinet, standard electrical and electronic equipment such as switchgear other components can be installed in the Hazardous Area without every component having to be either flameproof or Intrinsically Safe, potentially saving considerable cost and enabling "off-the-shelf" devices to be selected.  The unit is factory set to 35°C, with an over-temperature warning activated if the internal temperature rises to 50°C.  Ambient operating temperature is from -35° to +45°C.

Hazardous Areas are to be found in a wide variety of industries ranging from the obvious examples of petrochemical and chemical installations, gas storage facilities and grain silos through to food manufacturing and the pharmaceutical industry.  Anywhere where flammable gases, vapours, liquids or powders can mix with oxygen is a potential risk.  The new air conditioner, manufactured from stainless steel, will enable control equipment to be more easily sited within the Hazardous Area, reducing installation costs and wiring complexity.
