For applications where a fire detection system is installed in unheated areas where condensation might be expected, the B524HTR heater base incorporates a resistive array to heat the detector. Externally powered from an unregulated supply, the heater bases help to prevent the device going into fire or fault alarm as the result of condensation in the detection chamber. For applications where there is a possible danger of water dripping from above into the detector and base assembly, the WB1 wet base is used in conjunction with a standard B501 base to increase the sealing level to IP42; it also ensures that any dripping water cannot enter the detection chamber of the unit. The RMK400 recess mounting kit is used when a detector is mounted in a suspended ceiling to recess the detector by some 20mm, rendering it less obtrusive without reducing its effectiveness in detecting combustion particles. *** Ends: body copy 168 words *** Notes to Editors.
